Saaho Box-Office Collections Continue Spiralling Downwards; Director Sujeeth’s Reaction To The Dip Is Too Garbled- EXCLUSIVE
Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor starrer, Saaho witnessed a strong opening but past two days the film's collections have taken a hit and falling substantially. We got in touch with the director of the film, Sujeeth Reddy, to understand his perspective on the decline
Saaho, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Prabhas opened at the box-office with a strong number of Rs 24.4 crore, which can be attributed to the fan-following Prabhas enjoys after Baahubali’s massive hit. Of course, everyone was eager to see him in a Bollywood masala film with Shraddha. Hence, the advance bookings, all out of excitement and fan craze.
Saaho maxed on Sunday as it marked a figure of Rs 29.48 cr, but as the week started, it witnessed a huge dip of around 50 percent. The film made only Rs 14.20 crore on Monday, followed by a huge fall in Tuesday’s numbers (Rs 9.10 cr). In 4 days, Prabhas and Shraddha starrer has managed to touch 108.5 crore, while all-India stands at 247 cr according to BOI but 350 cr according to Sujeeth.

The film has been made at 350 cr, which was revealed to us by Prabhas in his interview to us. That the film's producer Shyam was in denial in our interview (published on Saturday) is different and irrelevant.

Reason is just one: Most people haven't understood the film, it is so complicated. Trade analyst, Amod Mehra says that even many critics told him that it was confusing as hell. So pray, how does one recommend this film to anybody? Surely, you don't want to be cursed!
Bad word of mouth and below-average reviews led to lesser and lesser number of people queuing up for a dekho of this fancy film with no head or tail. Add to that, the latest reports that Baahubali director, Rajamouli had warned Prabhas of the loopholes the film has but the actor chose to ignore them.
With such a drastic drop in numbers, we decided to contact the Captain of the Ship, Sujeeth Reddy to understand his perspective.
Not to our surprise, the Captain was unwilling to talk, citing a sore throat. Hope it didn’t happen because of the yelling in frustration of falling numbers.
Nonetheless, we were determined to get him talking, so we asked him to text us the answers to our queries, one of them being if the film will make profits or not. After a bit of provoking, FINALLY Sujeeth, who seemed quite garbled throughout the conversation, replied, “It's too early to say that I feel". "That" I feel? Must be a typo, he meant "What" I feel.
As for the film being confusing, Sujeeth asked us "if we asking that question for ourselves or the general public".
And yes, Sujeeth was not game to texting us the reply on our query that why the collections of his ambitious Saaho are dwindling.
